Wasinger MIA with conservative press

Mr. Conservative Rob Wasinger was missing in action in tonight's article in Kansas Liberty about the first district endorsement race. Kansas Liberty summarized the endorsement race in light of former Congressman Jim Ryun's endorsement of Sen. Tim Huelskamp today.

Liberty also interviewed Tracey Mann and the newest candidate, Monte Shadwick. Say what you will about the Salina guys, but at least they have the decency to speak to the press. Barnett, Bolrda and Wasinger apparently don't believe the public has a right to know what they think.

I expect this kind of stuff from Barnett and Boldra. After all, they are the farthest left of the six candidates. Barnett in particular now needs to focus on hiding his record from the public to have a better chance at election. But Wasinger's decision to avoid a reporter, especially one that is actually fair and factual, is down right inexcusable.

Even though Tim Huelskamp is the only well rounded conservative in the race with a stellar record to back it up, at least all of the other candidates recognize that they have to appear like a well rounded conservative to get elected. Everyone but Rob Wasinger it would appear.

While everyone else has been trying to convince the public they're the best candidate by treading to the right of where they naturally are, Rob Wasinger storms into town (sorry, storms into the state) and goes distinctly left, hiring Washington D.C. lawyers who do work for stem cell research initiatives in California and raise money for candidates like
Rudy Giuliani.

And in light of not getting a single dime out of the first district in campaign contributions, he heads west to find someone, anyone to endorse him. And who does he decide would make a good endorsement? An independent who's only endorsements in the past have been for two Democrats and a liberal Republican.

And now Rob isn't even willing to speak to the press to pretend he's a conservative. It's downright shameful.

the kansas liberty is the most unimportant blog/news group in kansas. they lack credibility and, most importantly, they lack any readership.
the amount they charge for the "news" they pimp is embarrassing.
many would feel different if kansas liberty was doing anything but preaching to the choir. ignorance is bliss, and hearing only things you want to hear is a sure ticket to failure.

Do front-runners attack opponents? No. Clearly, Tim, you are no front-runner.

KL "news" is certainly embarrassing, isn't it? Which is exactly why the Cap-Journal ran nearly the same story.

I guess Rob knows best which papers he should speak to and which he shouldn't. I agree it's suspect he won't speak along with the liberals in the race. But it's not so big you write a post about it.

This is people getting mad at Huelskamp's success.

You all will complain regardless of what happens.

You are very sad.

Everyone knows that KS Liberty is published by Sen. Mary Pilcher Cook. And, everyone knows that Mary Pilcher Cook and Tim Huelskamp are good friends. Not suprising then that there is a "Hurray for Tim" story from them. I would expect to see them on a weekly basis until the election, however, I will not be reading KS Liberty.

But you'll read this blog???

So when is tim actually going to start meeting with actual voters instead of spending time in the posh Ritz-Carlton in Washington DC hanging out with his expensive DC-insider consultants who bash former congresswomen?

Ouch!

"So you learned how to use the Google on the internet machine."

No actually, Anon 11:13 is just a fool.

If your candidate can't raise money in the district, can't get support from Kansans, can't lose his Harvard accent, can't hide all the bridges he burned with conservatives, has no persona separate from Brownback, and can't get the attention of the press . . . stop wasting your time attacking Huelskamp.

Maybe if you guys from Brownback's Wash, DC office, New York and Ohio would spend some time in Kansas campaigning for Rob, he may have had a better initial showing.

Pride cometh before the FOOL.

Is the Huelskamp campaign still accepting contributions for the second quarter? I heard as long my check is dated before June 30th I can still give and have it count on this July 15th report. (At least thats what Brian Weber says.) Isn't that illegal?

FEC law actually states that contributions received by June 30 can be counted as net contributions. So anything RECEIVED after June 30th would have to go on the next report.

And the gloves come off.

You're upset that a blog is commenting on your candidate and promoting Huelskamp, so you react by attacking Huelskamp's campaign?
